Sunday’s games
Albuquerque scored four runs in the top of the 18th to beat Iowa 5-1 on Sunday. The 5 1/2 hour game featured 17 pitches as the I-Cubs tied a franchise record for most innings played, dating to Aug. 1, 1999, at Tacoma. Jake Arrieta started, and gave up one run on three hits over six innings while striking out nine. Jeffry Antigua threw six scoreless innings of relief. It’s the Triple-A All-Star break, so no game Monday.
Tennessee’s game at Jackson was cancelled because of rain. The Smokies reached the All-Star break with a 16-8 second-half record and 3 1/2 game lead.
Chadd Krist homered for the second straight game in Daytona’s 6-2 win over Jupiter. Elliot Soto had two hits and one RBIs.
Scott Baker gave up four runs on six hits over three innings in Kane County’s 5-2 loss to West Michigan. It was Baker’s first rehab start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2012. Gioskar Amaya had three hits, including a double.
Rob Zastryzny threw two scoreless innings in Boise’s 3-0 win over Vancouver. The lefty combined with four pitchers on the shutout. Jacob Rogers had two hits and one RBIs and Daniel Lockhart had three hits and two RBIs.
Xavier Batista and Erick Castillo each homered in Mesa’s 6-4 win over the Atheltics.
